Ian Wright fears Chelsea will miss out on a top four place, despite heading into the final day of the season in third place, ahead of fellow Champions League aspirants Liverpool and Leicester City.
Thomas Tuchel has transformed Chelsea’s fortunes since his appointment in January, following the sacking up of Frank Lampard.
The former Paris Saint-Germain boss inherited a fractured dressing room and a team languishing in mid-table, but the German has had a transformative effect on a host of players who were short on confidence.
After their FA Cup final defeat last Saturday, Chelsea exacted a measure of revenge on their Wembley opponents, defeating the Foxes 2-1 at Stamford Bridge to ensure their destiny is their own hands heading into Sunday’s match against Aston Villa.
Dean Smith’s side won impressively at Tottenham in midweek, however, and with Jack Grealish now back in the fold, Wright believes there could be one last sting in the tail.

And the former Arsenal striker fears Chelsea’s misfiring forward Timo Werner could be the man to cost his club Champions League qualification.
He said: ‘I think Leicester will beat Tottenham, I think Liverpool will beat Crystal Palace and I think that Aston Villa will beat Chelsea.
‘When we are looking at the goals they are going to need and the goals that Chelsea miss and Villa maybe with finishing off the season with Jack Grealish and Ollie Watkins, you can just see a Villa team causing them problems.
‘You can see that you don’t know what Chelsea’s coming but one thing is for sure, Timo Werner will probably get offside a couple of times, maybe score a couple of goals, he’s capable of assisting, but he will miss a couple of chances which they can’t afford.’
