Jurgen Klopp confirmed that Naby Keita suffered a hamstring injury in Liverpool’s 2-2 draw with Brighton, seemingly putting the midfielder on the side lines for a few weeks.
The 26-year-old limped out of the match after just 20 minutes with the Reds leading 1-0 through a Jordan Henderson goal.
Mo Salah doubled the home side’s lead before an impressive Seagulls fight back, with Enock Mwepu and Leandro Trossard levelling things up.
It was a disappointing result for Klopp and Keita added to his frustrations as he will be without the Guinea international for some games to come.
‘He showed me the hamstring, and they’ve told me it’s the hamstring,’ said Klopp. ‘But I can’t say more.’

Keita is not normally a guaranteed starter for the Reds, but the club has been suffering a minor injury crisis in midfield of late.
Fabinho, Thiago Alcantara, James Milner and Harvey Elliott are all out, with Keita now joining them on the injured list.
Keita started the game against Brighton alongside Jordan Henderson and Curtis Jones in midfield and was replaced by Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, but Liverpool are looking a little thin on the ground after that.
Tyler Morton, the 18-year-old who has impressed in the Carabao Cup but who is yet to make his Premier League debut, was on the bench against the Seagulls and could be next in line for a spot in midfield during the injury problems.
The Reds host Atletico Madrid in the Champions League on Wednesday night before travelling to West Ham next Sunday.
Fabinho could be back for the West Ham clash, but none of the others who are lacking fitness are likely to feature in either game.
