Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku is back on the training pitch after almost a month out with an ankle injury.

The Belgium international suffered the injury in the 4-0 Champions League victory over Malmo on October 20 and has subsequently missed three Premier League matches.

Although the Blues have picked up seven points from those games in his absence, Lukaku’s eventual return will be a welcome boost for Thomas Tuchel.

The west London club confirmed the £97.5million summer signing’s return to training on Monday morning, while the 28-year-old posted two pictures of himself on the training pitch on his Instagram account.

Chelsea go away to the King Power Stadium to take on Leicester on Saturday as they look to keep up the excellent form which has placed them top of the Premier League table.

Tuchel’s side have picked up 26 points from their first 11 games this season and conceded just four goals along the way.

Blues midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek thinks goalkeeper Edouard Mendy will be key to the west London side’s title charge.

‘We have a lot of players in the team who bring different qualities but Mendy has been fantastic in goal,’ Loftus-Cheek told Chelsea’s website.

‘He’s been a constant from the start of the season and some of the saves he’s made have kept us in winning situations.

‘That’s what you need if you’re trying to win a title, to have someone like that behind you who can always save you after a mistake.

‘He can get you out of trouble and he’s been fantastic.’
