Liverpool are keen for something of a clear out this summer, with at least six players available for transfer when the window opens.

The Reds decided against a move for Timo Werner due to the economic uncertainty and financial constraints the coronavirus has caused across the sport.

Chelsea have swooped for the £50m RB Leipzig man, with a deal agreed to take him to Stamford Bridge, while Liverpool are left trying to raise funds for transfers of their own.

In order to do so they will be trying to offload at least six players, with Goal reporting that Dejan Lovren, Divock Origi, Xherdan Shaqiri, Harry Wilson, Loris Karius and Marko Grujic all available for transfer if suitable bids come in.

The club would have had little trouble finding buyers for those players before the global pandemic, but all clubs have seen their purse-strings tighten as a result and they may now be more difficult to move on.

Liverpool have been linked with huge moves for players including Jadon Sancho, Kylian Mbappe and Ousmane Dembele, but none seem likely if they were unwilling to fork out £50m for Werner – a player that Jurgen Klopp wants and who wanted to move to Anfield.

There will be some space freed up on the Liverpool wage bill with Adam Lallana set to leave the club with his contract expiring this summer.

The England international has been linked with a string of Premier League sides, with Leicester, and former boss Brendan Rodgers, his most likely destination.
