Frank Lampard has explained why he dropped Chelsea record signing Kepa Arrizabalaga for the Premier League clash at Leicester City.

Spanish goalkeeper Kepa, who the Blues signed for £72million in the summer of 2018, has struggled to find his top form this season.

Lampard was critical of the 25-year-old following Chelsea’s 2-2 draw with London rivals Arsenal on January 21 and picked Willy Caballero for the FA Cup clash against Hull City four days later.

Caballero, 38, also starts for Chelsea at the King Power Stadium on Saturday afternoon and Lampard said: ‘It’s a decision I have not taken lightly.

‘I trust in Willy Caballero, I trust in both keepers.’

The Leicester clash represents Caballero’s first Premier League start for Chelsea since he kept a clean sheet away to Leicester on May 12 last season.

For Leicester, Jamie Vardy is fit to start after a hamstring injury but Wilfred Ndidi misses out and is replaced by Hamza Choudhury.
