The whole world is talking about David Silva after the midfield magician’s Manchester City departure – and WWE superstars have joined the conversation.

A host of top wrestlers have come together remotely to pay tribute to the Cityzens legend after he made his final appearance for the club this week as the team were dumped out of the Champions League by Lyon.

That hasn’t deterred the well wishers with kind messages pouring in for the Spanish ace, who has called time on his City career after a decade playing in sky blue.

Former world champion Kofi Kingston said: ‘I wanted to say I respect the hell out of everything you’s achieved over at City. I know everyone’s gonna miss you as being part of the team.’

He was joined in the video by SmackDown Tag Team champ Cesaro, who added: ‘I’ve been a fan for a long time… I just want to say that Man City are definitely going to miss you a lot.

‘And between you and me, I think you should cut your hair again because it looks a lot better.’

Meanwhile, Sheamus – a huge Liverpool fan – looked less than enthused to be part of the tribute, but still had some kind words for Silva.

‘David, you know what? I’ll give it to ya. You were an amazing player in the league. I like your style man, I like the way you play the ball, I like the way you helped Man City to win multiple Premier League and multiple cups,’ he smiled. ‘Cheers for everything you’ve done for the Premier League and all the best, fella.’

The 34-year-old hasn’t confirmed his next move as he looks to the next stage of his life away from the Premier League.

However, his dad Fernando recently spoke to Spanish radio programme El Transistor and suggested while his son’s mind hasn’t been made up, he could ply his trade in Serie A.

He said: ‘I can confirm that he likes the Italian league and would really enjoy playing in Italy. He told me he could play there until he’s 40 years old.

‘At the moment, there are many offers and he has to decide, but I’d love it if he signed for Lazio, because even if Rome is quite far away, it’d be a huge opportunity for him.

‘I know it’s unlikely he’ll come back to Spain, as he always tells me to rule out the idea of a return to Valencia.’
