Wilfried Zaha have revealed the racist abuse he has received from an Aston Villa fan before their clash with Crystal Palace on Sunday.

Palace travel to Villa on Sunday afternoon with Dean Smith’s side in desperate need of a win to boost their chances of avoiding relegation.

But ahead of the match, Zaha has revealed that he has received a series of racist messages from a Villa fan on Instagram.

The message, which appears to be send on Saturday evening, read: ‘You better not score tomorrow you black c***. Or I’ll come to your house dressed as a ghost.’

The user, jackdolan_avfc, also sent Zaha a picture of the Ku Klux Klan and another racist image.

In their response to Zaha’s post, Crystal Palace wrote: ‘This is an absolute disgrace and should not be happening. We stand with you, Wilf, and anyone else who has to suffer such horrific abuse.’

Speaking last year, Zaha revealed the shocking frequency of how often he is racially abused by rival fans during games for Palace.

‘Nearly every game I’m called a monkey or a n***** or a whatever,’ he told The Jackal magazine.

‘Imagine if I really got down about that?”

‘I don’t know if we’re animals to them or whatever. Why is this okay? Why are you saying these things right next to your five-year-old kid?

‘And then, when you leave, what, you’re back to being a normal dad, working a normal job? People mask this stuff.’
